June was a table designed for a friend of myself and Hugh Soward. Hugh Soward (architect & friend) and I were asked by this friend to design a table that was under simply under $30. This project came along with our own restrictions - all we had now was an old Skil table saw, wood glue, collected wood scraps, a table sander and $30.
June utilizes it's vertical line-work and opposing woodgrain patterns to disguise a compartment that only the table's owner will know where to find. Once the correct knot is discovered, simply pull upwards and the mechanics (our $30 had to go towards something!) gently lower it closed afterwards.
